
Grant Applications.
The Jonathan Wright Foundation is open to any and all applicants, though preference will be granted to currently enrolled students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Applications
All applications must contain the following.
Cover page
Please include a title, names of applicants, contact address, emails, phone number, etc.
Abstract
Provide brief background information, objectives and methods of the proposed research, the specific goal of the project, and why this research topic was chosen.
Background/Introduction
Please provide all necessary background information, i.e. background info on your subject species, current areas where research is lacking, prior studies that have conducted similar research, etc.
By the end of this section, please ensure suitable information explaining the subject and research need is provided.
Please all clearly state any outcomes predicted as a result of your research.
Methods and materials
Please provide detailed methodology for achieving the specific aims of your research, including
Study design, techniques, procedures
Data collection and analysis plan
Potential challenges, limitations, and contingencies.
Outcomes and Impact
Please discuss the significance of potential results, and the potential for advancing biological understandings or public education.
Explain how findings will be disseminated (e.g., publications, agencies, conferences/symposiums.)
Timeline
Provide a detailed timeline, including a rough timeline for the steps required for your research, time spent in the field, etc.
Please provide an anticipated completion date.
Budget
Please provide a detailled breakdown of the budget, including equipment, travel, etc, and justification for each item.
Please clearly state the total budget, and the portion of the budget that will be funded by a grant from the Jonathan Wright Foundation.
Letter of Support
Please provide at least one letter of support from a faculty advisor, or collaborator/institution if a faculty advisor is not applicable.
